Pendulum Wall Clock Will Not Chime

Video of the day.
Pendulum wall clock will not chime. A clock running too fast or too slow a clock that stops running or runs intermittently does not chime or chimes out sequence are all repairs you can make at home. If this does not solve the problem replace the batteries. Old and exhausted batteries is the primary cause for the movement to malfunction while keeping time playing a melody or swinging the pendulum on some models. Ensure that you are using brand new alkaline batteries and they are installed following the and symbols.
Open the front door and hang the pendulum on the hook on many clocks the hook is behind the dial give the pendulum a swing and the clock will start ticking. Some chiming clocks even play a few bars of a song or simple tune. The clocks will chime on the hour under normal operation. Resetting your clock will take a minute and fix the issue completely.
Battery operated quartz dual chime movement will not operate. If your chiming clock is not emitting the correct number of chimes with a given hour it s time to reset your clock. Ensure that the chime is not in the off position. Don t worry about getting a level out and finding a perfect plane.
Simply start the pendulum swinging and move the case gently until the tic and toc are in good balance. A clock that leans to the left or right at the slightest angle will throw your pendulum into pandemonium or stop it in its daily tracks for tracking good time. Choose the proper size wood screw typically a 8 10 or 12 to fit the hanger at the top back of the clock and long enough to go securely through the wall into a stud.
